Focus on drawing
- Encourage everybody, staff included, to carry sketchbooks with them to create a visual diary of the Day. Sketch in unusual places – the swimming pool, the sports field or in science lessons
- Invite art students to your school for the Day. Can they help you experiment with a huge variety of materials and tools, or help pupils invent new ones? Try 3D drawing with wire or drawing large-scale with ropes or string
- Get everyone to draw a self-portrait on a 'post-it' note. See if you can build up a whole school portrait – or, what about a rogues' gallery! Get pupils to make large portraits of all the teachers. Award prizes for the most life-like or the most unflattering
- Bring in some unusual things for pupils to draw. The Big Bug Show can bring living insects into school. Local museums can loan collections of strange objects. Find some circus performers or dancers to pose for life drawing
