Organise a gallery visit with a difference
- Take along a teacher who wouldn't normally go. Plan a cross-curricular visit with them: what about linking to Science, Maths, Geography or Dance?
- Ask your gallery if they can organise a workshop to include parents, grandparents and younger siblings
- Ask if your group can go behind the scenes to see how the gallery functions, or the way an exhibition is installed in the gallery
- Record pupils' responses. You could take a video camera or tape recorder to make it simple and fun. Send a copy to the gallery
- After a visit, instead of writing 'thank you' letters, write a joint poem, or make and send postcards. Pupils could write a review for your local press, or they could send the gallery their own ideas for an exhibition
