WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR CHILDREN'S TURNER PRIZE
A digital four-screen reinterpretation of Hogarth's Marriage à la Mode; ceramics inspired by William de Morgan; photography inspired by the work of Andreas Gursky; designer bird tables complete with specially designed bird food and bird sounds; a dress made entirely out of gloves, an animated retelling of the Ramayana; video and installation inspired by a visit to Sachenhausen Concentration Camp in Germany; a dance piece created and performed in empty Victorian swimming baths in Manchester, graffiti and VJ films are among the winning projects in this year's ARTWORKS Young Artists of the Year Awards.

TRAFALGAR SQUARE JOINS CHILDREN'S ART DAY CELEBRATIONS
Tens of thousands of children, their teachers and their families will take part in the biggest ever celebration of CHILDREN'S ART DAY on Thursday 1 July, with special events taking place across the nation from Trafalgar Square to Pontypool, from Ballymena to a bus in Glasgow, from schools to galleries, museums, streets, hospitals, parks and playgrounds.

ARTWORKS PUBLISHES NEW RESEARCH ON THE STATE OF ART AND DESIGN EDUCATION
State of the Art, published on Children's Art Day, Thursday 1 July 2004, is a review of the state of art & design education in the UK after five years of intense change in policies and programmes relating to education and creativity. This research has been devised, managed and funded by the Clore Duffield Foundation as part of the ARTWORKS programme.

ARTS MINISTER LAUNCHES GUIDANCE ON CREATING SUCCESSFUL LEARNING SPACES IN MUSEUM AND HERITAGE SITES
At an event at the Horniman Museum today, the Rt. Hon. Estelle Morris MP, Arts Minister, launched
Space for Learning: A Handbook for Education Spaces in Museums, Heritage Sites and Discovery Centres.
